This entire DST patching process is a mess, and Microsoft isn't helping. The fact that it's so important, and after updating the tools this video wasn't updated, is just another example of how disorganized things are. A simply tool, that would run through all mailboxes on a server and update them automatically is all that's needed.

This was the best help I found for this issue. It is basically the same as the new, just ran it tonight. Those added comments on little things was just a HUGE help, I was actually stressing about this. So many freakin articles digging and digging and this video helped everything flow a whole lot better. Much thanks to the creator. Since he helped people out with his own time. Thanks Again.

Just wanted to join the others in saying "Thanks!" We were also stressing over doing this and this video made things a whole lot clearer. One thing that might be helpful is to show some appointments that were incorrect before and how they were fixed after, and how to go about fixing users who have time zone conflicts (I guess that would be some appointments in Central and some in Eastern). Even without that, Great Job!

Eventhough the video is using the old version of the tool, it can be followed to get the same results. It worked for me. Thanks. However, I got 2 users that I can't seem to correct and don't know how to proceed from here.. this is the error in the msextmz log: HrProcessInputFile:Processing Mailbox:/O=SPORTs /OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=LANAS HrReadTimezoneFromRegistry:Failed opening timezone registry key 'Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\PACIFIC STANDARD TIME ' - Error 0x80070002. HrProcessMailbox:Error 0x80070002 - Unable to Read timezone PACIFIC STANDARD TIME Any ideas? thanks in advance

This whole debacle is like an auto recall only the mfr ships you the tool, a bunch of docs and expects you to fix it yourself. What most angers me is how Microsoft bundled the Send As permission change with DST, adding to the frustration of Blackberry admins like myself. I will do the work required to make sure my users' workflows are maintained but the way this issue was initially presented, address and supported is a disgrace.

These directions work on the newer tool, but there are some unintended consequences: Recurring meeting that are very old suddenly appear...it's a bit of a mess.

Had the old meetings appear as well. Nothing that a majority of my clients can't deal with. Nice video and does a nice job even with the new versions of the tools.

I agree with the other users on here. This is intolerable. That a freakin' TZ change Congress made TWO YEARS AGO, is causing us to waste THIS MUCH TIME is INSANE. I have been spending over three weeks on this problem. I support many SMBs with SBS 03 and this is a total nightmare for me and them. The fact that I have to hunt for Legacy DN, extend.dat files is like some 13 year old's root kit hack. I don't think MS; not to mention the idiot in DC who came up with this idea, realizes the waste of time and frustration this is causing their customers.

Thank you so much for posting this Video. This is the best help I can find for the exhcange DST tool. I have one question before I run the tool. I already have a domain account that has Full mailbox access and Send As rights, do I still need to use "Grant Mailbox Permission" Script as show in Video? If yes, how do I install this. KB930879 does not mention this.

If you read all the KB articles regarding. You will notice that if you have SP2 installed on your exchange 2003 server all you must do is have automatic updates turned on or wsus. There is two updates that you must do after the fact - these two updates breaks BES because it removes the send as permission.
