TechED 2007 talk; Becky Benfield on Exchange 2007 SP1 Standby Continuous Replication (SCR)

At Tech Ed 2007 in Orlando, Florida, I was able to get some more time with Becky Benfield, Principal Program Manager, to record a quick interview around one of the new high availability capabilities that will be available in Exchange Server 2007 SP1.  Here is a very informative interview on the new Standby Continuous Replication (SCR) feature due out with Exchange Server 2007 SP1.

I love it! This is going to give us an excellent (and cheap!) way to have a 3rd copy of data sitting somewhere outside of our present 2 datacenters. How much longer until we get to learn how Windows Server 2008 does clustering across non-uniform subnets?

Great stuff - both the SCR and making the video available to all. Only criticism is give the speaker a lapel mic.

I ran into some trouble setting up SCR with SP1 Beta 2, but I found a workaround.  Enable-StorageGroupCopy SGName -StandbyMachine ServerB did not initially seed the database on the standby machine.  I had to Suspend-StorageGroupCopy SGName -StandbyMachine ServerB, delete all log files from ServerB, then execute Update-StorageGroupCopy SGName -StandbyMachine ServerB from ServerB.
